Nestled between Mexico to the north and Guatemala to the south, Belize boasts incredible rain forest and the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere – second only to the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. July through November is considered hurricane season between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. The wettest months are from June to November while January to May are the driest.

It is part of the 900km Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest coral reef system in the world. The reef is Belize's top tourist destination popular for scuba diving and snorkeling and a huge source of the Belize fishery.
Caracol... is the most important historic site in Belize featuring ancient Mesoamerican ruins. This was the centre of the largest Mayan Indian kingdom and the archaeological remains of thousands of structures offer incredible insight into their well developed ancient culture.
