The best sailing in Australia is in the Whitsunday islands, located off the coast of Queensland. The group of 74 islands provides line of sight, short island passages to remote uninhabited islets as well as developed resort islands. Best time to visit
The southern hemisphere winter months of June through to September are the best time to visit Queensland and the Whitsunday islands. It becomes very hot and humid in October through December and then the rainy season begins February through May. Another good reason to visit in the southern winter months is to avoid the dangerous marine jellyfish present during the warmer months that can be fatal. It is suggested you do not swim or if you do to wear special protective suits.

Whitehaven beach… is a spectacular 6km stretch of white sand on the southeastern side of Whitsunday Island. It has been named the best beach in the world.
Great Barrier Reef… is the world's largest living ecosystem and is made up 2,900 individual reefs, approximately 900 islands and extends over 2600 kilometers. The reef is located 60 kilometers off the Whitsunday Islands and cannot be accessed by charter yacht as it is prohibited. Dive excursions are lead from the Whitsunday islands and both scuba snorkeling trips can be joined daily.
