OCEANIS 321 : A generous sailing yacht .....
When it comes to cruising, the Oceanis range has become a reference point throughout the world. Robust and reliable, they sail on all the seas of the world, whatever the state of the sea and the wind. The technology used for their construction has been well tried and tested : the inner moulding, a real framework for the hull, is strengthened in areas of stress and gives maximum rigidity. As with all the Oceanis, your Oceanis 321 benefits from the results of research carried out by Beneteau's Research and Development department : between the gel coat and the laminate, the BWS (a Beneteau patent) is a real shield against the porosity of the gel coat, and thus protects your hull. Beneteau's are built to meet the highest boat building standards for an additional guarantee of safety and longevity. Your Oceanis 321, designed by Groupe Finot, will remain a safe investment and will guarantee you many problem free sailing seasons.
The Oceanis 321 is above all a generous boat. Begin with her hull, which is fast and efficient on all points of sail. With a long waterline, a characteristic of all Finot designs and her plumb bow, she cuts through the waves and the chop with ease. Her bulb keel with wings and her rudder protected by a skeg, give her helm a nice feel, a moderate heel and excellent stability, while maintaining a shallow draft of only 4'3". The Oceanis 321 is also generous on deck : numerous portholes and hatches for ventilation, the simplicity of all handling lines (brought back to the cockpit on jammers), well positioned, quality winches and equipment (rigid vang, furling genoa kept clear of the anchor, large "T" shaped cockpit, standard wheel steering, opening transom with swim platform in skirt... ). Your Oceanis 321 is the perfect sailing yacht for vacations or any time.
Your Oceanis is heading out of port. Effortlessly you unfurl the mainsail, steering with her standard wheel. (Or if you have opted for the classic mast version, the full battened mainsail comes out of her cover and is easily hoisted between the lazy jacks). The wind fills the sail and takes over from the diesel engine. The rigid vang and the mainsheet on the coachroof enable you to execute a perfect manouever. A gentle morning breeze and flat water, the genoa is unfurled from the cockpit and your Oceanis 321 briskly accelerates.
Numerous portholes provide plenty of ventilation in the salon and cabins. The interior volume of this 32 1/2 foot sailboat is truly astonishing : from the 'L' shaped galley to port, to the salon settee to starboard, from the forward cabin to the aft cabins, the space has been perfectly distributed for maximum pleasure and comfort. The lockers beneath the berths and the lockers along the hull sides with sliding doors, provide ample space for everything you'll need for a successful cruise. The warm atmosphere of the Oceanis 321 is enhanced by the richness of finely crafted, varnished cherry woodwork.
Mainsail easily stowed with either choice of mast and genoa furled, the anchor has caught and you're secured for the night. It's very warm, and the water looks inviting. The swim ladder is unfolded, and you dive in. Refreshed, you climb back on board. A quick shower on the swim platform, or below in the large head compartment at the bottom of the companionway. Sunbathing on the deck for some and gastronomical delights for the others. Around the large salon table you will enjoy the space and the view of the water through the portholes at eye level. The forward cabin doors are open, and a large double berth is visible. This evening, you've chosen the tranquility of a small, protected anchorage. You can easily climb into the dinghy from the swim platform on the transom of your Oceanis, and head into the little dock in the port.
Night has come and you're glad to be in the large aft cabin for a peaceful night's sleep before the next leg.
