More and more sailing destinations now ask for the skipper of a bareboat to have certification to be able to charter a yacht. Even sailors with considerable experience need to have certificates to be able to charter a yacht in Greece, Croatia, Spain or anywhere in the Mediterranean.
Taking a sailing course in the Caribbean is a great way to enjoy fun in the sun while on a holiday that is structured to give you that important certificate at the end.
There are many different courses worldwide offered by different organizations such as the Royal Yachting Association or the Canadian Yachting Association. Our courses are delivered by American Sailing Association (ASA) sailing schools. ASA is the leading authority on sailing instruction sailing schools in the United States and their qualifications are now recognized worldwide.

You will need to have successfully completed ASA 101. When you have completed Basic Coastal Cruising you will have sufficient skills to be able to sail a vessel of 20-30ft as a skipper or crew in moderate winds and sea.
