Our yachts are specifically designed for the larger seas of the Aegean, as they are built heavier to offer more stability and are the largest and most spacious monohull yachts in the Greek cabin charter industry. The yachts are designed by Ocean Star and have 5 to 6 double cabins all with private washrooms and cabin fans. When you book with us, you will be confirmed to sail aboard one of these very comfortable 40 ton vessels which all have similar layout and features*
The yachts have the following features:
2 x forward double cabins with folding bunk bed above and private washroom. There is a small double bed and standing area at the side of the bed with a closet for storage.
2 x extra large double bed cabins with private washroom. Cabins have the widest double beds on the yacht and standing area at the foot of the bed with a closet for storage.
1 x small double stern with private washroom. Stern cabin is the widest cabin on the yacht offering good space next to the bed and a closet for storage. This cabin is offered at a lower rate due to a low ceiling height (5'3"ft) in both the cabin and bathroom. This cabin is only available on one of our yachts and is subject to availability on certain departures only.
Unless the small double stern has been booked then cabin allocations are made on day of boarding. We are not able to provide specific yacht or crew names in advance.
Two light meals are provided aboard the yacht each day. The hostess/crew onboard will have fresh coffee and tea ready at around 8am each day followed by a breakfast spread which is self-service and generally light continental rather than an American style hot breakfast. As an extra treat and where possible we will offer fresh pastries, pancakes or french toast at certain swim stops! Breakfast generally includes a mixture of:
Lunch is usually served in the shaded cockpit anchored in secluded bays and consists of:
Beverages such as soft drinks, iced tea and water are included and stowed on board. In the afternoon, we offer coffee or tea and sweets such as chocolate and/or cookies. You are advised to bring aboard your own specialty and snack foods, alcohol, mixer drinks and ice for happy hour which is not included.
*Actual accommodation may vary from images shown. On rare occasions an alternative yacht or smaller yacht may be used based on the number of bookings. Our yachts will motor sail in light air to make destinations on time. There is limited shore power/air-conditioning in the Mediterranean. When booking, it is not possible to specify a particular yacht or crew.
The trip is for novice, experienced and non-sailors, you can join in all aspects of life aboard ship and we welcome you to take the helm or you can simply read a book and soak up the sun. You can join us if you are a single, couple or a group of friends as you pay by the cabin. Majority of our guests are couples either younger or older!
Each day you'll be given the chance to savour the culture of your destination. Your warm and experienced crew will keep you up to date on the bays, classical temples, sites and gourmet restaurants in the region and most days, there is an excursion you can choose to take. The day will typically start by sailing to the next destination with a lunch stop underway. Upon arrival at the next harbour, the gangplank will go down and you will be free to come and go and explore. Later in the day you can get together for happy hour with your fellow crew mates followed by dinner. Every day there will be another highlighted restaurant, but if you don't wish to join the rest of the crew, then you can choose to find your own little taverna or konoba!
Each day there is a chance to swim and snorkel. The Med is not a tropical destination and therefore is not a diving destination as there is very little to see underwater. However snorkelling is a great way to explore the bays and the few brightly coloured fish. There are a limited masks and snorkels onboard so if you are an avid snorkellor it is best to bring your own.
A sailing cruise or cabin charter is an adventure sailing vacation where you can participate in all aspects of life aboard ship, this can include:
