A percentage of the charter fee known as the APA is added to the charter fee. APA funds can cost as much as 40% and are used to pay crew salaries, provision the yacht to your personal requirements. APA, is accountable by receipt and any unused funds are reimbursed at the end of the charter period. An APA % for a motor yacht is higher than a sailing yacht due to the fuel used for the larger engines and if large sailing distances are requested the amount can be as much as additional 45% of the charter fee.
VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT)
In Greece, crewed yachts have a separate tax added which is typically 13% of the yacht charter fee payable in advance.
