Cycladic Culture of the Aegean Sea

If you've already been to Greece, the chances are you've seen and quite likely bought a Cycladic statue as a souvenir, but do you know the history behind them?

These simplistic statues make wonderful gifts and add interest to any living room shelf but they were initially dismissed as ugly! It turns out they are created by a nation of people more ancient and sophisticated than first imagined. This interesting short film explores a little of the history behind the statues and gives an insight into early Cycladic culture.

The statues are found in a chain of islands called the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. Our cabin charter sailing vacation visits a few of the islands in this fascinating archeological chain.

A cabin charter is where you book a cabin on a shared yacht. You will book with people you don't know if you don't book all the cabins. Meals are included and its a great way to sail a yacht without all the overheads of booking the whole yacht yourself.
