Sailing in Greece: Dining under the Aegean Sea stars
Sailing in Greece: Dining under the Aegean Sea stars

Our second trip of the season started on 11 June with guests from North America aboard Margarita and a flotilla of three fun crews: family Fyrwald aboard the beautiful 44ft catamaran Sawadee with Poseidon’s skipper George Sifanios; skipper ‘Handsome Doug’ and his crew aboard Omerta also sailing on a stunning 44ft catamaran and Poseidon’s good friends Hubert and Karla from Montreal with their crew aboard Kalliopi.

Kleftiko Bay on the southwest tip of Milos never fails to impress and for Sharon G and Sharron M aboard Margarita, kayaking through the caves ticked one of their trip wishes. Catching a 40lb tuna on the way from Hydra to Milos also meant that all yacht crews enjoyed a feast of BBQ’d tuna under the Kleftiko stars that night. The meltemi winds arrived towards the end of the trip, so for crew comfort Mykonos and Kea were missed from the itinerary but were replaced by a wonderful windy overnight anchorage at Serifos where the crew of Margarita enjoyed pasta by candlelight and a serenade by the crew of Kalliopi over the VHF radio – a fun end to the trip for all!
